What Matters Most: Details
Frequent Restaurant Patrons
Experience is Important
Tableware cleanliness is one of the most important factors in diners’ restaurant experiences.
One Chance to Make a First Impression
Diners said they’re being more careful on where they spend money when eating out, and with many restaurants to choose from, and one bad expereince could keep them from coming back.
What Else Are They Hiding?
Dirty silverware, plates or glassware makes diners wonder what else isn’t up to par—from kitchen cleanliness to food safety.
Why Clean Matters:
“When you get a fork with food stuck on it, it’s just gross,” said one frequent restaurant patron, wrinkling her nose in disgust. Diners weren’t shy about sharing their thoughts on the importance of clean tableware—and many wondered why restaurants don’t pay closer attention to this element of the experience. “I would never serve a guest in my own home with dirty silverware or spotty glasses,” a woman explained. “So I expect restaurants to have that same level of care. Clean tableware makes me feel like they value my health and my business—and then I will be going back.”
